Cycling Without Age Society (CWAS) pivots to help the community during the Covid pandemic. “Thank you. You’re a life-saver. It’s not safe for me to go out” says Diane from the front door of her condo. Active citizenship!
Using it’s trishaw bicycle, volunteers from the Society are assisting individuals in Sidney to access needed supplies, groceries and prescriptions. This service helps people who need to stay isolated due to their pre-existing conditions and going out into the community puts them at risk. Volunteers deliver sanitized goods to the resident’s door while maintaining safe physical distances and using proper handling protocols. The Society serves the full Peninsula region where volunteers will deliver goods by car. This service is free to any resident on the Peninsula. The Society will continue offering delivery until our community returns to normal activity when our usual bike rides for those residents who are less-physically and less-mentally able to get out in the community.
If you or someone you know requires this service, please contact us by email, “info@CyclingWithoutAgeSociety.com” or by phone, Steve at TIDESgroup 250.891.6599. We can arrange goods ordering, payment and delivery to your door.
Stay safe … stay active … keep smiling!
