Hey Sidney/North Saanich, meet our Volunteer of the Month Wanda McCall.
Wanda has lived in the Sidney area for 30 years. She first learned about CWA during a Tour de Victoria riding alongside trishaw pilot Carson, a PhD student whose thesis project was the development of a CWA program. His elderly passenger was loving the experience.
Intrigued by this and newly retired from 30 years as a Physiotherapist, she was riding with her buddy Brenda who talked about her friend Steve setting up a Sidney chapter. She joined CWAS right away to become a pilot. “Volunteering with CWAS has been a great way to share my love of cycling with people who have become less mobile, as many of my clients had been”. Each and every ride has proven to be a joy for both her (as the pilot) and passenger alike as they enjoy the Sidney sites by bike.
