Frequently Asked Questions for people seeking information about being a passenger.

How much do rides cost?

The rides are free. Cycling Without Age Society in Sidney is a non-profit organization. We are a volunteer-run organization. We rely on grants, fund raising and donations to provide this service. You can donate online through our website or in the donation box on the trishaw.

Where will you pick me up for my ride?

When you book online, you can include a passenger pickup location. We pickup within Sidney only.  If you do not live within the pickup boundaries, we can meet you at Sidney All Care, 2269 Mills Rd, Sidney.

How long are rides and where do they go?

Rides are typically about one hour long and stay on quieter roads in Sidney. Rides include stops for views of the ocean. We do not go on main roads and avoid traffic.  You can schedule a one-hour ride for 9:30am, 1:30pm (and 5:30pm April to September).

Who can go for rides?

Cycling Without Age provides rides to those less physically able or mentally unable to enjoy a ride with a companion of his or her choice.

What are the safety procedures?

Helmets must be worn by passengers and pilots. We provide helmets for passengers. After each ride, helmets are wiped out with sanitary wipes. Seatbelts must be worn by passengers. There is a small first aid kit with the bike.

Can we stop for appointments or to do errands during a ride?

No. These rides are provided by volunteer pilots for recreational purposes only. Pilots may stop along the ride at parks, sports fields, playgrounds, along with coffee and/or ice cream shops.

Do passengers need to sign a passenger waiver before a ride?

Yes. Passengers only need to sign the waiver the first time they ride. Waivers are available below (passengers can print, fill out and bring to first ride). For passengers that do not have access to a printer, your pilot will have a form you can sign. Waivers are good for one year from date of signing.

How do I book a ride?

You can sign up for a ride online, click the “Book a Ride” button.

  • Choose the week you would like to book a ride (two weeks in advance, then choose a date and time in the passenger row (not a pilot slot).
  • Fill in the information on the form. You are encouraged to have two (2) passengers for a ride. Enter both names in the “passengers” box. Two people provides companionship and easier conversation since it is sometimes hard for the pilot to hear the conversation.
  • You will receive a confirmation email.
How far in advance can I book a ride?

The online booking system allows you to book two (2) weeks in advance and up to one (1) day in advance. Rides can not be booked within 24 hours of the ride time.

How many passengers can I book for a ride?

You can book one (1) or two (2) passengers for a ride. Enter both names in the “passengers” box. You are encouraged to have two (2) passengers for a ride. It provides companionship and easier conversation since it is sometimes hard for the pilot to hear the conversation.

How do I cancel my ride?

You will receive an email confirming your ride. To cancel your ride, click the link in the email, it will open your scheduled ride(s). Click on the ride information, at the bottom, click the “cancel” button. Please try to cancel 24 hours in advance.
