Pilots
Frequently Asked Questions for people seeking information about being a pilot.
There are lots of opportunities including being a pilot (taking people for rides), promoting the organization at events, being a companion for passengers, fundraising and grant writing. Check out our volunteer information to see how you can get involved.
The online booking system allows you to book two (2) weeks in advance (starting Sundays at 12:01am). We encourage pilots to book their time slots for the 2 weeks.
You must check the online booking system for that week to see if passengers are signed up. If it is within 24 hours and there are no passengers signed up, you do not have a scheduled ride. Pilots do not get a confirmation email when passengers sign up.
Yes. You will receive a confirmation email after you book time slots. You will also receive a reminder email the day before your scheduled ride.
Yes. Passengers only need to sign the waiver the first time they ride. Waivers are available online (passengers can print, fill out and bring to first ride). There are printed copies of the passenger waiver in the binder in the storage area in the trishaw for passengers that do not have access to a printer.
Pilots are responsible for finding a substitute for their ride(s). Send an email to all pilots asking for someone to fill in your time slot. Once someone has volunteered, you must cancel your online booking and your substitute must sign up for that time slot.
